Technical information International Division | | Cooperation between bio.inspecta AG and CERES GmbH for textile certifications | | Good day
With this letter we would like to inform you about changes in the field of textile certification by bio.inspecta.
bio.inspecta is part of the holding company EASY-CERT group AG. EASY-CERT group AG consists of three significant certification bodies: bio.inspecta (Switzerland), Austria Bio Garantie (Austria) and CERES (Germany).
For providing additional range of services to the textile operations such as OCS or RCS in addition to GOTS, bio.inspecta has decided to cooperate with CERES in the field of textile certification and give up its own accreditation for GOTS. In this regards, some systematic change is necessary as it is announced below.
| | As your company is located outside our future field of activity for textile services, bio.inspecta would like to offer you a seamless transition within the framework of the aforementioned cooperation and hand over the entire inspection and certification of your company to CERES with the next regular inspection. | | This change opens up the certification of other sought-after standards in the field of sustainable textiles, such as OCS or RCS. | | What does this mean for you? | | - bio.inspecta hands over your company and all the necessary documents to CERES with the next inspection.
- You receive a new quotation from CERES independent from bio.inspecta as well as a registration and contract form. In preparation of this, we kindly ask you to complete the application for certification in the appendix and return it to us. We will forward the documents to CERES.
| | - CERES carries out the inspection at your company. If possible, travel distances are kept as short as possible by combining them with other clients in your region.
- Evaluation and certification are carried out by CERES. You will receive a CERES certificate and will be listed in the GOTS database by CERES.
- As a result, your licence number will change (in the medium term, licence numbers will be issued by GOTS, thus avoiding such changes in the future).
- Because of the changed licence number, it will be necessary to replace labels, which refer to bio.inspecta as your certification body. A transitional period applies: you can continue to use labels that have already been released and produced. However, before starting a new production you must redesign the labels and adapt them to the new certification (licence number and reference to certification body). In the future, the label release will be done with the CERES form that you will receive in the course of the recertification
- After the issuance of the certificate by CERES, transaction certificates will be newly created by CERES. You will receive detailed information during the certification process. For all transactions done while the current bio.inspecta is valid, please proceed as before by sending the applications to international@bio-inspecta.ch.
- Once CERES has recertified you, bio.inspecta will terminate the contract with you.
| | If you have any questions about the process or change, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions on the phone, via video conference or email.
Until you switch to Ceres, your contact Ulrike Zdralek will be happy to assist you.
