CE certification of biochar – New as an addition to the EBC certification

The certification body q.inspecta GmbH, approved by Carbon Standards International, now offers the CE conformity assessment as an add-on to the EBC certification. EBC producers can combine the CE audit with the EBC audit in many cases, and the certification is subsequently carried out by CerTrust.

According to Regulation (EU) 2019/1009, fertiliser products in the EU must comply with the requirements of the Regulation before being placed on the EU market. Manufacturers must ensure that their products meet the safety requirements. For this purpose, certification and labelling with the CE marking is mandatory in certain cases, especially in the case of cross-border movement of goods.

The testing and certification scope of q.inspecta and CerTrust covers all EU fertiliser products. This cooperation facilitates the combination of EBC audit and conformity assessment for CE marking for biochar producers.

q.inspecta and CerTrust are pleased to inform you about their new partnership in the field of conformity assessment for CE marking according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1009. EBC producers obtain the entire service from q.inspecta, which also organises the operational handling.

CerTrust is a Hungarian company based in Budapest. CerTrust has the necessary accreditation to carry out the conformity assessment for CE marking of biochar according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1009.

q.inspecta is a Swiss company based in Frick. q.inspecta has the necessary accreditation to inspect and certify EBC biochar as well as the associated carbon sinks according to the applicable standard and guidelines.
