An audit at the start of the year offers you the following benefits:
The annual audit can be carried out early in a time period that is ideal for you (e.g. in the dead of January). It allows you to tick off this task at a time of year that tends to be less busy than others.
Even if this year's annual audit was carried out in the second half of 2022, you can schedule the 2023 annual audit for early in the year. This reduces the effort involved, given that little time has passed since the last audit and therefore less information needs to be checked.
