We are pleased to publish the version 10.2 of the European Biochar Certificate (EBC) Guidelines.
| | | European Biochar Certificate (EBC) - Guidelines Version 10.2 | EBC certified producers, processors, traders, and stakeholders had the opportunity to comment on the planned changes in a survey. The feedback was evaluated and, if favorable, incorporated into the guideline. | | | - Batches: A pyrolysis plant can produce several batches during the reference time of one year if feedstock and/or production conditions are changed. (A. Summary Section 2.9; Chapter 5.12).
- Labeling: When selling to end-user (B2C), a packaging unit must not be labelled with more than one certification class. When sold to other businesses (B2B) that process or trade biochar, the requirements for labeling have been specified (Chapter 3).

- Molar H/Corg ratio: For EBC-FeedPlus and EBC-Feed, the molar H/Corg ratio must be less than 0.4. A transition period until December 31, 2023 applies (Chapter 7.2; Chapter 10.4).

- Country annexes: Adaptation of country annex for Sweden and addition of country annexes for Austria and Switzerland.
