Publication World-Climate Farm Standard 2.0

Good day

After several months of development of our World-Climate Farm Standard, we can now publish version 2.0. As always, the publication was preceded by a thorough coordination process in which the various feedbacks were carefully incorporated. We thank all participants for the various valuable suggestions and proposals.

The World-Climate Farm Standard (WCFS) supports farmers and farm groups in recording and calculating greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sinks (C-sinks) of their farm, as well as in developing and implementing emission-reducing measures. The approach is based on the ISO 14064-1 standard and considers the current Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) guidelines.

The WCFS enables the comparison of climate balances between different farms and is intended to show potentials for improving results of individual farms or groups of farms. For this purpose, the standard defines the most important climate-relevant processes as well as their calculation bases and system boundaries.
