| | Please note that GOTS version 7.0 has a new document structure and new content flow. The document Guidelines for new structure of GOTS 7.0 will help you with the new structure. Please go through the standard and all documents and inform also your subcontractors/facilities about the changes. According to GOTS all changes must implemented till at latest 1st March 2024. Please note that from January 2024 on CERES will conduct audits accordance to GOTS 7.0.
In the following, we have only summarized the biggest changes for you. Nevertheless, please read all relevant documents carefully, as there are further changes: | | >> Chapter 2.1 Allowed Organic Fibers / Chapter 4.4 Human Rights and Social Criteria | | “The use of fibers, which originate from production projects located in high human rights risks areas, may require additional mitigation measures (for example, on-site social audits) to ensure that these production projects comply with GOTS Human Rights and Social Criteria.” | | “While GOTS does not cover the farm level of production, the Certified Entity shall ensure that the organic natural fibers used are produced respecting GOTS Human Rights and Social Criteria, taking into account the specific nature of this Standard and recognizing its limited direct monitoring and assurance possibilities.” | | >> Chapter 3.2.2 Table – Allowed and Prohibited Additional Fibers | | Recycled Synthetic (polymer) Fibers: Derived from pre- or post-consumer waste: only polyester, polyamide, polypropylene, elastomultiester (elasterell-p) and polyurethane (elastane) | | - ALLOWED Individually or in combination as a total up to 20% (≤20%)
