Summary of Upcoming Changes and Updates

We would like to inform you that as of January 1, 2024, the new GLOBALG.A.P. IFA Standard 6 Smart will come into effect. In this communication, we aim to provide you with a brief overview of the significant changes.

1. Audits for IFA v6:

  • Mandatory Implementation Date: Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) version 6 will be mandatory starting from 1st January 2024.
  • Affected Subscopes: The final allowable audit date for IFA v5.2 subscopes fruit and vegetables, flowers and ornamentals, hops, and the aquaculture scope is 31st December 2023.

2. Transition Tool from IFA v5 to IFA v6:

  • • The primary goal of this tool is to assist you in effectively transitioning your existing IFA Version 5.2 programs to the latest IFA Version 6 Smart. The requirements of both versions are compared
  • This tool is primarily focused on fruit and vegetable production.

4. Audits in accordance with GRASP v2:

  • Mandatory Implementation Date: GRASP version 2 will become mandatory from 1st January 2024.
  • All IFA v6 Smart audits will be combined with GRASP v2. Access the relevant documents and checklist here or via the IFA v6 checklist generator.

5. IFA v5.4-1-GFS Together with GRASP v1.3-1-i:

  • IFA v5.4-1-GFS will remain valid after 1st January 2024 until, IFA v6 GFS achieves GFSI-recognition. During this recognition period, it must be conducted in conjunction with GRASP v1.3-1-i.

6. GLOBALG.A.P. Trademarks Policy Transition Period:

  • For producers, the trademarks policy is normative for IFA v6, and compliance will be assessed during IFA v6 audits.
  • For all stakeholders, there has been a transition period in place until 1st June 2023, allowing the use of existing materials featuring the GLOBALG.A.P. logo.

7. CoC v6.1

  • GLOBALG.A.P. Chain of Custody (CoC) version 6.1 has been mandatory since 1st July 2023.
  • Please prepare for the audit using the updated checklist. You can find the checklist for external audits and self-assessment, along with further information, here.

8. Further Version Changes:

  • AH-DLL GROW version 3.1 has been applicable since July 27, 2023, and will be mandatory for IFA v6 Smart audits from 1st January 2024.
  • New FSMA PSR add-on v2 is valid from 27th July 2023 and will become obligatory for IFA v6 Smart audits from 1st January 2024.
