News: Winter is over, the success continues | | We look back on a successful snowboard season with Global C-Sink Sports | | Good day
Snow sports are as much a part of Switzerland as the Matterhorn is of the mountains: it's hard to imagine a winter without fun on the slopes. However, climate change is confronting these thoughts with an unpleasant reality. It's getting warmer, even in the mountains, even at altitude. To ensure that the fun on the piste can continue for decades to come, our task is to slow down climate change. | | Winter is over, the success continues | And so it made sense to start right here and also sensitise the cosmos surrounding snow and water sports to the climate and the possibilities of slowing down its change. The first step for us was to incorporate biochar into the boards. What began at that moment as an endeavour to improve the climate also turned out to be a success factor in the competition for top places on the piste. Our ambassadors and snow pioneers Maurizio Bormolini, Daniele Bagozza, ChloƩ Trespeuch and Elisa Caffont can therefore look back on another successful season.
| | | | | Also: Oxess celebrates its birthday! | And we will be represented with an information stand at the anniversary celebration on 25 May 2024 from 14:00 - 21:00.
Since 2022, we have been working with Oxess and the Ithaka Institute for Carbon Strategies to produce snowboards that not only win races, but also act as a carbon sink.
| | | The past season was also a complete success for Carbon Standards International. The new Biochar Tool and the Global C-Sink Registry were launched. The official release of the Global Tree C-Sink Standard V1.0 is taking place these days and the new version of the standard for carbon sink potential of biochar will be published soon.
It remains exciting on all fronts and we look forward to continuing to improve and develop and thus make a significant contribution to combating climate change.
