Global Construction C-Sink – Review and Outlook

Good day ,

We are delighted to look back on our webinar held on April 15, 2025, which drew overwhelming interest from participants around the globe.

Attendees from all over the world joined to learn more about the new Global Construction C-Sink Standard and took part in engaging discussions on how buildings made with biogenic materials can be designed and certified as carbon sinks.

We received valuable feedback from practitioners, which we are currently incorporating into version 1.0 of the standard. We will notify you as soon as the first buildings can be certified under the Construction C-Sink framework.

Webinar Highlights:

✅ Introduction to the Global Construction C-Sink Standard: Certification of buildings that store CO₂ (e.g., using hemp or biochar).

✅ Presentation of the Valley Widnau pilot project – Europe’s first fully CO₂-neutral multi-family building.

✅ Insights into the monetization of carbon sinks and the use of certificates.
