Changes to the General Terms and Conditions (GTC) of Carbon Standards International AG effective 1 October 2025

Good day ,

We are delighted that our range of services has grown significantly since Carbon Standards International was founded. We now offer many more services and IT tools, but not all of these are covered by the current GTC.

We are therefore amending the GTC with effect from 1 October 2025 in the following respects:

General standardisation of terms

Our EBC and WBC standards involve the "certification" of quality products. The Global C-Sink standards involve "validations and verifications" carried out by independent bodies; these terms have been adjusted.
The "auditors/certifiers" are referred to as "personnel" for short.
Our various "methods/standards" have been standardised under the term "standards".

A preamble has been added.

02 Subject matter:

The subject matter of the contract has been adapted.

04 Obligations of the client:

As our work is monitored by external approved bodies, these persons must also be granted access during inspections.

The correct use of labels/trademarks has been defined, see also section 11.

Data protection has been adapted to the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG), and the receipt and publication of documents and the transfer of data have been described in more detail. Personal data will only be processed for the purpose of fulfilling the contractual relationship.

06 Quality assurance measures (audits by independent, recognised bodies):

Have been added.

07 Liability:

Has been defined.

11 The use of labels/trademarks:

Is comprehensively regulated in the Design Manual.

12 Intellectual property rights have been added:

Stating that Carbon Standards International holds the copyright to the standards and that these may not be incorporated into AI tools or used to offer paid services on the market.
