Updates on Services and Pricing for 2026 | | | Dear Customers,
We hope your year 2026 has started well. We would like to thank you for the pleasant cooperation over the past year and look forward to continuing our collaboration in 2026.
Preparations for the new inspection and certification season are already underway. In this context, we would like to draw your attention to several important points:
| | European Biochar Certificate (EBC) / World Biochar Certificate (WBC) | | | Registration and sampling of new biochar batch IDs | | | To avoid any interruption in certification, producers are requested to take representative samples of new batches during production, ideally around two months before the current batch expires.
Carbon Standards International (CSI) provides step-by-step guidance on its website regarding the handling of production batches, validity periods, and sampling under EBC and WBC.
| | | Please check your batch validity periods in due time, register new batch IDs early, and arrange representative sampling through a CSI-approved sampler. Please also note the | | | Important: Analysis reports that cannot be clearly assigned to a specific batch ID and lack proof of registration and sampling protocol in the Biochar Tool cannot be accepted for certification. | | | Preparation for the annual inspection | | | Efficient and smooth inspections are best achieved when both parties are well prepared. We have therefore created a detailed preparation checklist to help you review all relevant aspects and prepare the required documentation. | | | EBC Standard Version 10.5 | | | Carbon Standards International (CSI) announced updates to EBC Version 10.5 on 19 September 2025. This version has been in force since 1 October 2025. Further information can be found in the CSI newsletter. | | | Discover the new EBC Standard 10.5 | | | If you have any questions regarding the preparation or implementation of your EBC/WBC/GBCS inspection in 2026, we will be pleased to assist you. | | | Unannounced inspection visits are a key instrument and an integral part of our policy to ensure reliable compliance with the standard requirements. Although the implementation of unannounced audits (UA) is already defined in our SOPs, it has not yet been carried out consistently.
Based on the current risk assessment, the results of last or recent inspections, and the review process, unannounced audits will now be introduced as a standard measure for all new projects and for projects classified as “high risk.” This applies to both C-Sink Networks and Artisan-PROs.
Furthermore, an additional inspection may be conducted based on the audit results and the number of Artisan PROs and farmers registered during the year.
We kindly request your cooperation in facilitating these audits and ask that all required documents and information be made available to our auditor so that both biochar production and ICS functionality can be verified in accordance with the requirements of the Artisan C-Sink Standard.
| | | Our objective remains to uphold the highest standards of quality, integrity, and transparency.
We will be pleased to assist you with any questions you may have.
| | | In order to meet increased service requirements as well as stricter auditing and accreditation obligations, we have made a moderate adjustment to our prices for the first time. Our commitment remains to provide you with reliable services at fair and economically viable conditions.
